Well I spent most of the day at the Dr. with Anika, she has a fracture on her heel bone, which means she is now sporting this beautiful cast on her foot, for the next 3 weeks. Good thing it happened now, instead of when we are going to Switzerland.

What was I thinking?

I decided a while back to crochet a cardigan for a friend of mine. Well yesterday I decided I don't like to crochet, so I am going to knit it. Couldn't find a pattern I liked so I decided to make up my own. I started it after figuring out the pattern for 2hrs. I am making it in the fan pattern, so far it looks really nice and lazy just like I wanted it.
The bad thing is, my hands hurt after knitting for a long time. I really don't like that.

The "ugly" hat

This is Jayne Cobbs hat, worn in the cancelled tv series Firefly. I got my hubby the DVD set for Christmas and this hat showed up in one of the unaired episodes. I saw it and just thought wow that's a pretty ugly hat. But I have to knit it. So this is one of my next projects. I went to my local yarn shop and got some nice yarn. I have made one previously but the colors were not right and now my daughter likes it so it is hers. I will post a picture later.

first try

So here it is my first attempt at the Jayne hat. It doesn't look bad it's just the colors are not the way I would have liked them. So off to another try.

The Journey begins
